SUNY at Buffalo Athletics
The University at Buffalo Bulls compete in the NCAA Division I-A and in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Sports include football, baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling, women’s rowing, and men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis, cross country, and indoor and outdoor track. The Bull’s football team play home games in UB Stadium, as do the men’s and women’s soccer teams. The $23 million facility seats just over 29,000 visitors and has hosted some of the most prestigious track, field, and intercollegiate athletic competitions in the world. It includes a 400-meter, eight-lane track and houses administrative offices as well as locker space for 800 athletes. Alumni Arena is home to the men’s and women’s basketball teams, wrestling team, and the volleyball team. It boasts the country’s largest “free-floating” hardwood floor and $1.5 million in outdoor playing fields as well. It can seat over 6,000 spectators and includes facilities for weight and endurance training, and Olympic-size swimming pool, diving well, a triple gymnasium, and a dance studio. Playing fields include soccer fields, field hockey facilities, softball fields, and multipurpose fields.
